Non-Americans Own Our Open

This is Martin Kaymer. He's the German dude that just won the US Open. Getting real tired of all these Europeans comin over here and winning our national championship whenever they want. Seriously, is it too much to ask for an American to step up and make a run on Sunday? Listen, this guy played his German ass off and with two 65s in the opening round you can't take anything away from him. I don't hate European people either. I've been to Europe and it's pretty solid. All I'm saying is that once in a while it'd be nice to have a "Yank" take it. Seven of the last ten Open championships have gone to foreigners.
Six of the top ten finishers this year were Americans, so it's not for lack of talent. Kaymer's first 36 holes were remarkable, especially on a course that wasn't exactly forgiving, but his lead going into the weekend was far from untouchable. Would have been nice to see someone make a run at him on Sunday, if not for anything but to make it better TV.
On a lighter note, do you think Phil will ever win the US Open? Probably not right? I feel like it's been out of reach since he put one off the Trophy Club at Winged Foot in '06. Just an impossible collapse that must be so gut-wrenching there's no way he could recover. Kind of a boob though so I don't feel too bad. All I'm saying is maybe he should stick to insider trading.

PS: Show of hands, who is actually planning on watching the Women's US Open they keep talking about. No one. That's what I thought. They must have said 10000000 times how great it was to have the women around watching the men and using the practice facilities at the same time. How many of the tour pros do you think really felt that way? I got my money on 0.
